Article III – Dues & Assessments
Admission to membership and continuation of membership shall be contingent upon the payment to the Academy of such dues and assessments as may then be in force. Dues and the payment date for membership shall be as established by the Membership committee and approved by the Board of Directors.
Assessments may be levied upon recommendations of the Membership committee and approval and ratification by the Board of Directors; provided that, if a recommendation of the committee is to be considered at a meeting of the Board of Directors, notice of such recommendation shall be sent to each member of the Board of Directors by mail, facsimile, or electronic transmission at least thirty (30) calendar days before such meeting.
Penalty for Non-Payment
If dues have not been paid by the deadline set forth in the dues invoice, notification shall be given in writing to the delinquent member that if dues are not paid within thirty days the member’s name will be stricken from the rolls of the Academy.
Waiver of Dues
Any member suffering serious financial hardship or long-term illness may request a waiver of dues.
