AAPCM supports the successful legislative initiatives achieved in New Mexico. These scope of practice changes have enabled appropriately trained chiropractic physicians to treat patients utilizing a limited prescriptive formulary for functional and pain management medicine. These Advanced Practice Chiropractic Physicians have attained the right to and have been granted a Schedule 3N DEA License.
Our chiropractic legislative initiatives aim to increase the scope of practice for chiropractors when their education allows for it it. In regards to the right to prescribe, we aim to provide an avenue for chiropractors with the necessary education to prescribe medications with the same stringent regulations of the medical community, but with the chiropractor field’s penchant for conservative treatment and holistic approaches in mind.
We strive to seamlessly combine our chiropractic legislative and educational initiatives so that once implemented, they will function similarly to the medical community’s educational and legislative initiatives at large. That is, subject to rigorous testing and improvement.
